SOUTH CAMPUS RESIDENCE HALLS During this 60-minute tour, guests will be introduced to both RiverView and Cambridge Commons, two of UWM University Housing's 4 on-campus, residential facilities and home to a mix of first-year and continuing students. A 475-resident property built in 2008, RiverView is seated on the west bank of the Milwaukee River, providing river access and a tranquil setting. Cambridge Commons, a 700-resident building erected in 2010, is seated on the east bank of the Milwaukee River and provides stunning views, river access, and a metropolitan vibe. Guests will have the opportunity to get a feel for not only what RiverView and Cambridge Commons provide its residents, but also what the surrounding community offers. Areas that will be shown during the tour include standard (RiverView) and double-upgrade (Cambridge) suites, community kitchens, study and lounge spaces, residential cafe, security/service desks, UWM's own convenience store, and more.All South Campus tours begin at RiverView. SANDBURG HALL During a 20-minute tour, guests will get a look into Sandburg Hall, the largest of UWM University Housing's 4 on-campus, residential facilities. The three Traditional Towers of Sandburg (North, South and West), built in 1970, house the majority of incoming first-year students. Along with East Tower (built in 2000, housing upperclassmen), over half of UWM’s student residents live in Sandburg, many scoring terrific high-rise views of Lake Michigan and the upper east side of the city. Sandburg is conveniently located near the Klotche Center, Campus Police and numerous classroom and faculty office buildings. Guests will have the opportunity to get a feel for UWM’s traditional residential college experience. Areas that will be shown during the tour include a standard suite, common kitchen, study and lounge spaces, residential cafe, security/service desk, UWM's own convenience store and coffee shop, and more. Paid parking available in the Pavilion and Northwest Quad Garages and on nearby streets. Meet your Outreach Assistant inside the Sandburg Lobby, prior to entering through security. KENILWORTH SQUARE APARTMENTS Originally built in 1914 as a Ford Model T plant, Kenilworth Square opened in August 2006 with remodeled apartments offering truly unique living options on Milwaukee’s Eastside. During a 20-minute tour, guests will get a glimpse into the features that make this 330-resident apartment complex a competitive option for graduate students and upperclassmen, 21 years of age or older. Along with shared amenities such as a fitness room and laundry facilities, inside Kenilworth, guests will see a standard 3-bedroom apartment which includes a full kitchen, sitting area and beautiful 14-foot ceilings. In addition to a comfortable, secure living space, residents have the opportunity to partake in many Peck School of the Arts events hosted right inside Kenilworth. Public parking garage (off Farwell Avenue) and street parking available.
